DevCon Naija aims to stimulate the best up and coming tech innovators to pursue digital entrepreneurship and careers in tech, based on innovation excellence, and encourage Start-up founders and Tech Entrepreneurs in Oyo State and Nigeria to come together for the cross-fertilization of ideas and innovation to contribute to the development of the tech ecosystem.

The event especially encourages young innovators, Entrepreneurs and Investors to come to Ibadan, Oyo State, and for indigenous investors to be aware of localized talents and opportunities within.

The event shall support competitions aimed at opening up new lines of funding and start-up incubation. The event shall promote innovation excellence, with wide awareness and publicity, by supporting outstanding young innovators to develop and pursue digital entrepreneurship, including forming companies and joint ventures where appropriate.

The distinguishing features of the event are its focus on competitive business pitching over existing support programmes within Oyo State, and its support by the Federal Ministry of Education IDEAS Project Innovation Grant Fund (IGF).

The main selection criteria to be used by DevCon Naija business pitching will stress the product quality and potential of the applicant, the originality, groundbreaking nature and forward oriented character of the solution, its feasibility, and the potential of the applicant and the proposed tech solution to improve the lives of at least 1 million Nigerians.
